The single-seat Sukhoi 31 M was the last aerobatic aircraft made by Sukhoi, and arguably the best with a fantastic record in World Aerobatic Competitions and an absolute delight to fly for any aerobatic aircraft. Sadly, not many were made and there are 32 still flying worldwide so clearly they are rare and inevitably very sought after. This aircraft, serial 03-02 is arguably the best anywhere. It has led a relatively gentle life, and the current owner has spent a great deal to perfect its technical specification, and it is now fitted with a 450 hp engine; special 280 cm MT prop; lightweight so quite incredible performance. Cosmetically a lovely paint finish and probably 10/10.
The aircraft is currently registered in Lithuania with a Lithuanian restricted Certificate of Airworthiness. Total airframe time since new 815 hours, and current lifetime extension valid to 09/24. Certificate of Airworthiness valid to 03/23.
Engine is M 14 PF overhauled by Aerometal (our partner) in 2019, and 92 hours since overhaul. But, a very special engine producing 450 hp.
Propeller is a special manufacture MT three-blade propeller of 280 cm diameter giving significantly increased thrust. It was overhauled 09/18, and 165 hours since overhaul. (Life is 500 hours or six years).
Factory specification includes long-range wing tanks; smoke system.
Flexible hoses and air-bottle were replaced 09/18.
Other improvements include professionally extended undercarriage legs to safely accommodate the larger propeller; second oil cooler; MT fast-acting propeller governor together with oil pressure accumulator; manifold oil drain; conversion to Cleveland brakes; carbon seals in control-gaps; heated oil sump for cold weather operation.
Avionics include Funke 8.33 VHF and transponder; EDM 830 covering all engine parameters and iPad mounting. Also included are a full set of tools; wingtip sights; ground air-bottle.
Aircraft can be seen in Ireland, and asking price is Euro 195,000.
